Google has delivered shocking news recently by laying off 12,000 employees across the globe and here's some more bad news for IT engineers. The company has reportedly sent communications to its US based foreign employees to update them about a policy decision taken for now regarding pausing its Program Electronic Review Management (PERM).
Google is all set to stop new filings for PERM, which is mandatory for employer-sponsored immigrant visas or the much-coveted US green card. An email sent by Google team in this regard was shared on a forum by its employee, where the company stated that it will be a difficult decision for them but the employees need to be aware of this latest development.
The PERM program of US immigration helps foreign workers to stay in the country for at least 10 years after which they should renew it. The Green card has for long been a dream for many Indians and now Google making it tough has clearly rattled NRI techies in the United States.
